Hot Rods Made some hood sides for my 32

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hotrob32, Jan 3, 2019.

  1. Wanted a new look but also wanted the lake headers. Found a company called rodlouvers.com and they said they would sell me a chunk of sheet with Louvers any way I wanted them. The same day they emailed a cad drawing and In less then a week they were at my door for way less then a pair of name brand sides. Cut them to fit. Made a little hole to fit around my headers then had them powder coated to match. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Now I like that, really Kool. Been thinking along the same lines for myroadster which has the Patriot "roadster" headers. Do they have louvers of more than one length?

Like chunky hookers with a nighty or a SBC with hood sides, a little cover up goes a long way. ;)

Say what you will, there's several reasons that the SBC is so popular, and the Daddy of the SBC, Zora Arkus Duntov, also the developer of the Ardun head for the Ford Flathead wrote a "white paper" about the way to make the SBC the successor to the Flathead as the engine of choice for hot rods.

  11. I like it, but I wonder if you have enough louvers to keep it cool under there.

  12. Were you able to order the panel with the top broke over, like in your pic. Or did you do that?

  13. They were just flat and a little oversizes, I trimmed to fit and had a sheetmetal shop bend em

  14. Thanks, hotrob32. This looks like a good solution.
