yes another new voice, cars a 65 mk1 cortina and trucks a 53 commer q4-car is being assembled after major surgery--damn rust attack nearly killed it.Couldn t afford to do a "concours" to it--and besides after all the bad was removed only about 1/3 of the original remained.Took 2 1/2 plates of repair -sheet(all i could afford), the bonnet off my wifes old nissan micra(now scapped),the roof, bootlid, rear quarter, 1 door and most of a bonnet from my scrapped sierra. Plus a few scrounged offcuts and the top section of my newly made postbox---all sacrificed for the greater good..Car might be to young for The Hot Rod clasification but was done to the rules ---dont buy what you can make/adapt or modify. Its not just the body work thats of a multi-cultural background---just about everthing has been fumbled over and modified--most of it you wouldn t even notice at 2nd glance.Oh I did buy some new panels in f/glass-- yes gasp shock/horror --they aren t that cheap Iknow--well when did you last price a steel reproduction set of front wings/fenders for one of these--then still have to put your name down.Got a boot, bonnet in f/glass as well, but two sills and strut repairs sections in steel of course---quallity of all these not great and all needs extra/huge amount of time to get good enough.Combined with my beginners status of bodywork for the poor and confused ---it all came out pretty good in the final wash --as they say--- chheers -- has any one made a welded up block?
