Dirty2. PM me if you want to sell the 16x10's. I do have a pair of 15x12 Ansen Sprints for trade.

327-365HP... I'm thinking all the people sitting on these wheels like the American 5 spoke mags will try to jump on the bandwagon and sell. This will hopefully bring the supply up and we wont have the panic bidding wars.

Couple of years ago we worked on a set of OZ three piece wheels that were $2200 each !
They were anything but flat, and had different sized bolts holding them together, some of which didn't seat correctly and which had allowed the outer rim to move slightly and ovaled the holes.
Now somebody tell me that's getting what you pay for !!

One reason this stuff is going up in price is there are guy hoarding this stuff up. By that I mean guys have 15-30 sets or more of the exat same item. Look at the guy in AZ who has something like 3000 flathead intakes (He has many intakes with 100 exact copies of-Why?) or more and there are others like him.

I sometimes think there is some pschyological illness involved here to some degree.

If there wern't guys like that, this stuff would be almost impossible to find, they paid the going rate when they bought the stuff back in the day,..... when a lot of it was just junked, scraped or throwen out,..... they kept this stuff safe for years and there the jerk because now everyone wants what they liked and collected when no one else wanted that junk ?,...... just because it is all popular now they should give it away under what the market is ?,................ Is this your first post ?

Hide and watch if the aluminum slots aren't gonna skyrocket next. They are already creeping up in the desireable sizes.

No... they have made it even more imposible to find because they have hoarded them up and have no intention of ever selling them-that's the hoarders I'm talking about...the ones that have 50 of each item and who will never sell them.

Some years back before the SW gauge panels were repop'd by Haneline, originals in any condition were impossible to find. A friend was building a traditional rod and wanted one in the worst way. He approached a deep pockets guy at the Nat's who has big name rod builders build him cars. The guy was known to have collections of old speed equipment. They guy said he had 20 or so new ones in the box and 30 or so mint used ones but none were for sale. The deep pockets, who many on this site know or have seen his cars in the mags, loves to make people grovel at his feet. People who know him have said that's his reputation.

If the guy did not want to sell any he should have said "No, I don't have any" instead he let it dig in that "yes I have many but none will ever be sold so there na na na na"

who let this idiot in the door? It's the simple fact that if he hadn't hoarded this shit and continues hoarding it, it would have been GONE!!!...as in not around anymore, period. But since he was as mentally ill as you think he was, that means that when he does decide to sell, or when he passes away we all have a chance to still have vintage parts that would have otherwise been melted down decades ago...

I bought 5 pair of NOS 15x4, 4.5 bolt circle Ansen Sprints out of the back warehouse of Johnnies Tire Mart in Steubenville Ohio back in '88 or '89 for $40 a pair and sold them for something around 100-$120 pair.

Back then I was destitute and thought I had hit the lottery...it paid the rent for the month.

  25. He's not pissed at you. He's pissed at himself for not knowing what he had his hands on.

Yes, prices are beyond reasonable for what you get. That goes double for a your basic 5 slot mags from 1976.

  29. Streetfreekrustang may have a point. Besides, new hot rod parts have always been expensive, at least since I've been around, but now with T.V. and "Rat Rods" and "vintage" everything, old, rusty, garage sale shit is now high-dollar.

  30. Yeah, I figured as much. Say, did you try that handy dandy link I posted? :D
