Scotty...I wonder if those 15 x 10's would fit my pickup? Would they fit your '57? I MAY have four 15 X 8's...let me take a look.
Just for ****s and giggles. I'll probably end up selling this truck, and I want to hang on to the five spokes.
I think you are right, the five spokes look better. I still like the green truck from Finland with the slots...
Well you have to realize that the coloring of the photo and the coloring of the wheels is different, the lighting is different and the photo is blurry while the wheels are sharp. I could make them look like they're actually ON the car, but that takes time. I think they would look good on there, but I like what you have already.
I agree, that is part of it. May put painted steelies or chrome reverse(although that would not save me any $). It won't be running or up for sale any time soon, anyway. Thanks.
A pair of fenton 15"x3 1/2" just went for $455 on ebay. I paid $300 for mine. Keep an eye out for the skinny ones!
I'm still pulling the "Mag" wheels out from being s****ped. Found a good use for them if no one wants or needs them...... bolt them to your house and hang the garden hose on 'em. I now have two five spoke, two universal lug and a set of four 5 on 5 1/2. My son laughs each time I "Save" one. When I pulled a Beer keg out of the s**** which he paid $6.00 for and sold it for $30.00 he didn't think "Pops" was so dumb after all.
Just like TQ-D's and alotta others they'll come into vogue again in a few years with limited availability compared to what you can find from the time when they were most popular. I'm talkin offsets reversing and so forth. You'll all be kickin yerselves in the *** for sendin em to China for a quick buck. Think about it, the acceptable build era continues forward as prices get too steep on other stuff. This suddenly makes era specific parts more sought after. Give it time. Not like they take up alotta space. At one time not too long ago, "Traditional" hot rodding components were just junk that time and technology had rendered obsolete. Now that barrier is broken and the timeline reset to continue forward from the beginning, again.
Oh, and alla you no-white-letter's snobs can BITE ME. They were an AMERICAN performance car staple for over 20yrs. and have their historic place in the big picture. Enjoy what you like best and quit whining if others enjoy something different.
I love slots !!!!!!!!!!!!! I think they have a great period look and go great with the little cars I build . here is my 59 100e with old mustang 2 slots and the rear of my Squire . Looking for a matching pair narrow 14" 4 bolt 4 1/2 or 4 1/4 or 4 ?/?
Well dang, I just sent my 40+ year old Keystones off to have professionally polished. They will go on my 63 SWC. I was hoping they would look good.
hello i love them always looking for 15 inch in 5.5 any size and 15x10 in 4.5 non uni lug also any 14x6 in 4.5 can be unilug email me with pricess and sizes
www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=439635&d=1209327901 Heres the ones on my Bel Air. I think they look alright.
I agree, but most of the others that had been listed were always sold within a day or 2 of being listed in CL. It's hard to find any, especially in the 5x5.5 bolt pattern at 4 for $75.
I think that Starsky and Hutch ruined it for ya. A lot of folks don't remember Slots much before the muscle car/van craze and think that there is no tradition in them. I have a pair of Ansens (5x15) and a pair of US Indys (10x15). The Indys were the lightest of the US wheel company slots. I'll probably run them on the Altered. Someone will say they aren't trad but the Ol' Man ran a set of Ansen's as soon as he could afford them ( early '60s). That's trad enough for me.
Those six hole slots are pretty cool. I think Milner had a pair on his FED in the More American Graffiti movie.
Tom, your description is the problem. Tell us in the ad what diameter, width and bolt pattern they are and they'd sell. Also, you need to bump that ad. I haven't seen all the others listed that you mention. Could be that I just don't pay attention unless they are 14 X 6 with a 5 x 4.75 bolt spacing... I could use at least two of those. Prefer U.S. mag.
A couple of years ago the cl***ifieds listed a set (4) of them w/ 5.5 bolt pattern for $30. They were in Detroit and Denise picked them up for me. When I got them from her they had radial tires mounted that were less than 25% worn. They are going on my '48 F1 if I don't change the front and rear suspension.
I love slots! I think you have to be careful what car you put em on because they could look kinda funny on rare occasions. I don't think many people want 14" wheels because I don't think there are many that will clear disc brakes and I don't see many 14" tires that would fit on american cars. I would love a Datsun 510 with some 14" slots I think they look great on many cars. I think a Pinto with some slots and a little lowering and a focus motor would be a fun car.
