Hey all, Finally, Finally, took her for her maiden voyage! Coupl'a things I have questions about. Overheating , she runs up to 200 when idling for 15 minutes. or more, I have the brass V8, 65 Mustang, 4 core on her. Stock small block 350? Tha rad should pull that right down, right? I have a Ford Taurus 1990 super-blower, modern fan on that I am forcing through the rad and onto the engine. I Jerry-rigged a loop between the 3/4 exit of the water pump for heater core to the entrance of the manifold******* with a bypass loop. (Frozen******* in manifold) so I figured circulate the water intsead of caps on both ends? Secondly. I took a risk and dropped the pressure plate, flywheel, and clutch in from the Chevy 1500 ( NV3500). It makes a rattling noise when I release the clutch just about 2 inches at the top, just before it grabs all noise goes away. It is fine, noise wise, right up to the last inch and a half of pedal, then it almost sounds like gears are vibrating and slapping around. Once the pressure plate locks, I hear nothing- all smooth and she is off. Uncut clutch chatter? What does Clutch Chatter sound like? Please tell me like gears slapping together and a clanging! Man! Those 88s are really low! She will idle in first gear and pull like a bull. Maybe I went too low. Also, as some on here warned, that locked spoil scuffs when you turn; left scuffs on the road where I turned round and you could feel it slightly pull the front end when I was backing up. Anyone running that 4 core Mustang v8 rad with a small block? Anything you did? Is the sound of chatter a clanging or scrubbing? I ordered a pressure plate and when I split the crab this winter, I will send the flywheel out for a close shave. Pork
