I've had great luck and spent a ton of money with both Jegs and Summit as far as speed parts go.

Ive had really good luck with Speedway and especially Parr Automotive in OK city. I'd recommend either of them.

I'll echo the good talk on Summit, as well as props to Night Prowlers.

The guys @ SoCal Arizona are pretty good when it comes to mail order parts. They are both professional and knowledgeable. We use them all the time and they usually have the part shipped out the same day and in our hands by the second or third day.

For the kinds of parts that you mention, Jeg's and Summit are both excellent. Great service and their prices are about the same. I've found that if you want a crate motor or your a die hard Chevrolet guy and need engine parts, Pace Chevrolet up in Akron is also exceptional, especially their technical advisors. Jeg's is a little less knowledgable about the tech end of things, some exceptions, but they have the phone numbers of the manufacturers and are more then willing to point you in the right direction. Their returns policy is also very good, if it didn't fit or work the way you expected, they will take the stuff back, give you a full refund and they will take on the issues with the vendors!

For old Ford parts, Mac's can't be beat.

Whatever you do, stay away from Obsolete Ford Parts.
    Here's how bad they are:

Vintage Auto Parts or Speedway is who I usually go with. I have also bought some stuff from Total Performance. Everything else I buy comes from E Bay or on here.

As said Northern,Speedway,Summit and Jegs. Great service out of all four...but Southern Rods and Parts in Greer SC, buy stuff from Southern at shows or swaps.

In addition to the mail-order places listed, I have bought a few things (and even returned a few - with no hassle) from Sachse Rod Shop in TX. They've got a decent catalog they'll send you with your first order, and it's also available on-line. Lots of street rod type stuff, but also many items that transcend style boundaries.

What impresses me most about this place, is that when you call their toll-free "sales line", you end up talking to one of the shop guys. When was the last time you ordered something from Summit or Jegs, and the person on the phone had actually installed "widget x" and knows how the hell it's supposed to work? This is great when ordering (helps to make sure you order the right thing) and even better once the box arrives (and you're second guessing something about widget x).

They can also tell you if it's REALLY in-stock, and each time I've ordered, it's been shipped the same day. Damn, wish we had a place like that local. (Okay, now all you guys near Garland TX can tell me how they're really just a bunch of crooks and no-accounts). LOL Anyway, here's a link if interested.

Yeah, and if you DO buy from them at a show, don't give them your credit card number. They'll charge you at the show, and again when they get back to the shop on Monday! And definitely DON'T buy air conditioning parts from them. 100% of the people I know of that used them had to replace the system in a year or less!!!

As for Sachse, I was wondering how their mail order was. Those guys ARE pretty sharp, but a couple of them are a little cocky when you ask for advice without placing an order (on the phone or in-person). Most of them are cool, tho.

They will never get money from me again. Once I can get over, twice and you don't get a third chance. Of course bitching at full volume in front of their trailer at Charlotte got one of the problems fixed....
