So I have 53 Chevy sedan. My right leaf spring the main top one leaf spring has broken. I’m ***uming these are still the original ones. Does anybody have a source to purchase just the main leaf that carries new bushings? Or by any chance anybody have an idea of what leaf springs will fit in a 53 Chevy sedan that can be found at the local junk yard?
Put your location in your profile. Then maybe somebody local can help you with used parts. I personally would find a local spring shop and get at least 2 new main leafs made. Better still to get all new springs made. you need to remember they have been bouncing along for 60+ years.
I have a set of 2 leaf springs packs, original packs with leafs removed.. I just pulled them from my 53 to install different springs to relocate the axle for torque tube delete. 30 bucks plus shipping for both of them so you have one to fix and a spare for the other side since it may go soon too... Let me know, I may have some bushings i can throw in if they are still in my box of build bs... Springs are sitting on the side of my house and would be good to see them go to a good home...
Do your leafed still have the wrap on them? More often then not more springs are broken n cracked in the pack. lots of guys doing torque tube deletes on theses cars I gave mine away for free when I had my 50. try a local soring shop seee what they can do for you they are a very narrow spring with off set perch center bolt
