Somerset, KY has a nice monthly cruise on 27 after the Somernites cruise in down town. 27 cruise starts around 5 and will run to 11-12, always the fourth Saturday of the month.
I lived in North Central Indiana (Upland/Gas City/Marion) area and always a nice car scene in the area and lots of cruising on Friday and Saturday nights in the 80s and early 90s, not sure how it is now. That area still comes alive with cruising during the Duck Tail Run and James Dean show.
Never really had a "cruising" scene. In my high school days (mid 90's) we had various spots around town to hang out on Friday or Saturday nights, mostly just parking lot BSing before going street racing on the outskirts of town. There was 1 main spot, and maybe 3 other spots and you'd have to drive around to each spot across town until you found the crowd. The cops would har*** some spots or run us off, so we'd all just "cruise" to another spot. Sometimes there'd be 10-15 cars "cruising" to the different spots, and maybe 30-45 cars "cruising" to the street race spots.
