Hi guys. I’ve searched the internet high n low and cannot find replacements or info on these specific brakes. 1955 mercury Montclair. Treadlevac power drums. The ‘major’ brake adjustment eccentric cam on my drivers side is worn and pivots out of adjustment easily. The commonly known “minor” adjusters are fine.
where on earth, or the internet can I find replacement cam/spring/bolt for the “major” adjustment??
Most gearheads and car guys have never heard of this on a 55, I’ve found very little info on tbird forums and no replacement parts on any of the auction or parts sites. My manual has it in here but most Merc guys I know have upgraded past stock.
the other option if I can’t find this little cam would be putting on some bolt up easy replacements. I know, discs are the best but finding similar drums without this major adjustment eccentric would be just as good before pulling a working system minus a cam/bolt and spring.
    Thanks guys!
