So i'm still waiting for a front axle so i'm thinking about the grill. I have sectioned 7" out of the hieght and will take some out of the girth. I was thinking about puting in a center bar with a widow's peak and filling in the top. Starting to lay it out. Buddies say "just buy a glass 32 grill" No way! Butch what i got! Hand me my hammer and don't spill my beer! Ray

Yeah, he's quickly becoming a favorite here. And he should, just look at his work and determination. And yes, I love the 'Tude too. Steven.

Steven, he also has tremendous talent & energy. When he's DONE, I can't wait to see what the NEXT project might be!!!!

ALSO, with so many guys watching this WELL-documented build, I see a rting of only 4 blue stars, not 5. I'm pretty new, so I guess I don't UNDERSTAND how the rating system WORKS (?).

HOW the heck can I VOTE on this? I have looked for a prompt icon, but haven't seen one.

Thanks, Steven, this guy is an inspiration for all rodders/customizers, eh? NOT to mention, it's been entertaining as S--- !!!

    Cool. I'll be watching.

  9. Ray, I have an original steel 32 ford grill shell you could have. I don't care what Mike says it would be a mortal sin to put ford parts on this build.

just want to post that I have put glass in a couple of Ray's projects. His shop is smaller than a 2 car garage. well equipped and clean as a pin. but not some major pro shop. His approach to Dare to be different shows in every build. as does his attension to detail. I think if you decide to sell this Poupe, even a dollar an hour it should sell for over $25,000.
Make the windshield frame frame swing open on this one........Jim "The Old Car Glass Guy"

Hey Jim, I see you lurking. Yes , Mike thinks i need to put ford parts on it. No way!
I have a nice windshield frame for this one that i have cut down. The V butt glass you did worked great on my other truck but i missed being able to open it. Ray

Any wonder this thread has over 40,000 LOOKS?

My vote would be a sweet little D-500 Dodge Hemi, FrankinPlymouth. Hey, it's STARTING. Everybody's looking over this poor guy's shoulder! LOL

So i had some time and formed the center peak and let it die off at the chin. As usual the style lines around the opening are a pain to reproduce. Will do the top next, Ray

It's just begging for a hemi to be in between the frame rails, no other engine will do this car justice!

So i finished up the grill. The center bar is hollow so i sould ad nutserts to the back to hold the grill insert and to ad strength. The widows peak goes from top to bottom now . I wacked 2" out of the side girth at the bottom tapering to nuthi'n at the top. And 7" out of the height. Still don't know if this is the grill for me or not but it looks cool! Ray

How can some people have so much talent and the rest of us so little? Looks like all of the pre planning has paid off very well, car looks like it was always a coupe. I envy people like you who have the vision and talent to pull off something like this.

Went to the car show in Seaside OR yesterday. Lots of pretty cars. Came home and started sanding. Learned not to block sand with one hand and glass of beer in the other. You will spill the beer!

You'd be pretty hard pressed to tell that was ever a truck cab.

FrankenPlymouth, you have ONE POPULAR THREAD goin', dude! I agree: Hard to IMAGINE it was a truck cab. BUT, I was just as amazed how you built your OWN tail end there, buddy.

As the ol' '50s/'60s L&M Cigarette jingle went: "They said it couldn't be done . . . BUT!"
