I have been watching this thread ever since you began. I just went back to the first page and I just realized that I has been just a little over a year since you began. This is an amazing build and I am anxious to see the finished car. You are both talented and dedicated to pull this off. You are truly a cl*** act.

Thanks for the good reviews. My skill level has gone up through this build which was part of the challenge. looking back maybe i would do a couple things different but hindsight is 20/20. Would i hunt down a truck cab to build a coupe? NO, but i had one here. It's interesting the reaction i get from buddies. Some are horrified and others not. But they both now ask for help when it comes to metal work. I guess that's a complement. Once it's done i will have to see what's next.

  4. Imagine what you could do with a REAL coupe!
Been watching your build for a while now. It's really looking great! Congrats!

OK it's about ready to go into the paint booth. The hood i painted with the grill but ended up full of dirt so it is re-sanded and will get paint with the body. It is sitting there running and sounds good with it's snuffies in the pipes........sorry no you tube.. Ray

    Looks great!

Now that it is almost done, a couple of questions for you.

    1) What suprised you the most during the build?
    2) If you were to do it again, would you do anything differently?

Just spent the last hour going through this entire thread from start to finish and thought it was way cool. No secret that you did a masterful job. I like how not one time did you let anyone sway you to do something other than what you set out to do. G***er to boot! Awesome.

I guess i did it, a little more tidding up and she is done. I was feeling brave painting gloss black and it all went good with no big hickups showing through. In a week or so it will be pinstiped. Now what? Oh i guess i can drive the **** out of it and use it as a tire fryer!!!!

Before and after pix. Hope all you guy's are doing well. I need another beer. Ray

You did a great job on the car. I too have been following the build from the beginning. Have to like the shiny paint and nothing better than black.

Ray, Your coupe looks great in black. Maybe you need to get it flamed like a traditional Hot Rod Coupe ! Looking forward to the finished Coupe.

Seeing that it started out as a firetruck, i think a flame job would be appropriate. Nice job, drive it like you stole it!

You are for sure a true builder! Vision, talent, and not giving up. From page 1 till post was mind blowing. For hand made and painted black tells it all. My first beer this evening will be a toast to you Ray. But you think it wont be worth much.....That was the only part I read that I disagree with you on. You built something that never has been built before. That say's collector item to say the least. But I would hope you would keep it just to say......yep I made that. Congrats at the finest I have seen. Dan
