Love it, are you going to have louvers on the hood sides ? Some slanted on the same angle as the grille shell would look cool. There's going to be a shortage of pickup cabs now, everybody's going to be trying to build one of these. Really nice work and vision.

That will look slick the way it is. Cleaned up of course.

Sweet, the hood side louvers look kinda like the ones on my '31 A. The Dodge badging would look cool, but might not fit with the style you're going for.

I like the chop job James D did on it too.

What engine are you thinking of puting under there? Or have you had time to dream that up yet? Since you've been bussy makin' it happen.:D

If the hood's to the scale I think it is, it looks almost long enough to fit a Merlin under.:D (that'll have to do, I don't have a psychotic dementia smiley)

Good photoshop! I was just going to have a go myself, but was having trouble finding a good picture. But then... check this out - have you seen the size of this thing!! Nexxusian was right about the size of that hood!

Hey, so today all the posts and doors got sleeved and tacked. The sail panels are tacked also so now it's not such a wobbly mess. I had built a sliding platform from the cab X brace so i could move the roof back and forth as needed. The top of the roof will be replaced with one large panel because of the change in the crown and it was a mess from having fire truck lights screwed to it and me cutting it up. I won't finish up the top untill the tail gets made so this thread may slow down a bit. I have to go make a living to.........................Sheetrock is my life. Ray

  13. Yes, use that combo! That is way too cool.

  14. Nice...but DAMN! In my shortsightedness I sold [cheap] a great pair of 29 chevy quarters a few years ago...would have been perfect for your type of build....

Have you thought about leaning the rear pillar of the door forward? to compliment the b pillar of your roof.

How about a louvered pan underneath and Neicamp or Dick Kraft sprint car type nose?
Oregon isn't far from the salt flats.
Hats off. This is one of the best threads I've read!

I think the doors need to be longer to pull it off, but...

I'm not sure if you're trying to make it look like any particular year car... or mimic a ford coupe... but what about doing this?

    kicking the back out-
it makes it NOT look like a pickup... thats for sure...

This could be a very worthwhile adventure, there's so many PU cabs around, one day we could all be driving coupes !....:D

Hey, I played with it kicking it back more and changing the doors but then ( to me) it started looking like a later car coupe rear ( swoopy)and a early coupe front( boxy).
I don't think it will look like any certain make/model/copy/clone/recreation/tribute car just a cool coupe that will cunfuse people. My lowboy PU is like chevy/ford repelant at the local shows......all in fun.
    My just finished trailer toter 1961 Dodge c500 swing fender on a 86 p30 frame 454/400 etc........Ray
