So today i got a little more done. I made the wood buck for the tail and worked on the sides and lower style line. I have a bunch of work ahead shaping the compound curve for the upper quarter panel and blending in all the style lines .

So people ask what i'm working on............. I'm going to call it the "Poupe"
    (coupe/PU) like poop.
Anyway today i got pissed at it and untacked the rear roof section and moved it back another 2". I also wacked the old roof center section out along with the roof brace and kinda moved stuff around to see if the roof will look OK before i start the compound curves on the quarters. This is a big project for a hack. Now i got to go make money at my real job. Ray

Just a thought How about a sunvisor above front window to give illusion of a more chopped roof. It would also make roof line appear longer and lower in front. kind of like a 29 to 31 ford sedan visor

So i had a little time and worked on the compound curve joining the quarter panel to the rear deck. Hours and hours........... and lots of scrap metal.
I think i got the shape going on and may use the piece as a working buck or may save it and use it?? I will do the other side and put in the inner fender wells and style lines then weld it up and then cut the qaurters back off. Then build the inner trunk etc.. and put them back on.
I'm hitting my limit real hard on this one. Hope it works. Ray

That thing is going to blow some minds when its done. I'd leave the dodge emblem off of the front end and see if anyone can figure out what it is. Nice job on all the metal work.

My only complaint got answered by your last post. I was getting worried you weren't going to add the style lines to the new panels. Daunting job but I'm glad to see you're sticking to it. I think it looks great.

So i worked on the finish panels of the rear section with the compound curves. I Have figured out that in the real sharp curves i can only work about a 9" square piece
at a time to get the shape. I have to tuck and shrink a bunch and then smooth with the wheel. About 2 hrs per panel. Then weld together and do some more. This is a heavy learning curve for me but it's noy going to beat me!! I also spent some time making a stump work for forming. It works good along with a shot bag.

Pretty neat so far, the only thing I see that makes it look "strange, and or truckish" is the slanted windshield, I'm just curious what it would look like with the windshield at 90 deg (it may make the door look longer "without" making the whole door longer), just a thought! Photoshop anyone?

There was a company at the Detroit Autorama that had 2 pickup/3-window coupes. Beautiful craftsmanship and somehting very cool to look at. Mac's Ratz in Red Oak, IA. www.macsratz.com. What I see on their website still have small pickup beds - but they had 2 at the show that were just coupes. Contact them and get photos of what they had at the show.

Wow, amazing project and amazing skills

I'm gonna throw something out that hasn't been thrown out. Lenthen the roof, but not thru the doors. An inch or two in the roof behind the doors would go a long long ways.

A lot of non-ford coupes had more length back there.

    good luck
