Still here.......... Made the 1" style line on a brake and bending to fit the edge of the truck lid. I need to do the same with a 1 1/2" style line but will have to pie cut it to go the other way on the side of the quarter. I don't know anybody with a bead roller that can go that big. Very frustrating...... If a pro wants to chime in i'm allway's ready for tips. Plus some yard art i made....Ray

So i decided i need to mount to a frame before i get to far along. I have built a tube frame for my other rig but found a good donor from a 80 nissan 2wd pu. It pinches just right and is boxed all the way. I will cut all the crap off it and run a straight axle.

Still here, I put the wood buck onto the jap frame to check for fit. Then off again and starting to build the skeleton for the sheet metal including a hinged trunk lid. decided to redo all the quarters again.....................Ray

Wow! if you are going to go through the work of remaking the quarters you should make these top adjutments and lengthen the doors as well. I think it would be well worth it and you have the skills.

Another week and creating more scrap metal. I have put on some test panels to check for square and fit. The deck lid will be full of louvers and the tail panel trimmed shorter as needed when i get the new quarters done. The inner fender panels will also be trimmed as i go. I think i'm seeing the end! so today I roughed in the tops of the rear quarter panels. I need to fine tune each one and tack it down. Still need to make the style lines.....I feel good enough about the project that i will start looking for a 440 to put in it. Hope to have the thing in primer by the end of summer.

    Good to know, thank you.

How did you keep the rest of the panel flat in there?

It looks flat where it's 'sposed to be, in the pics anyway.

I envy you guys that do metal work of this caliber. I wish I would have invested in metal working tools when I was younger.

When i did the wheelhouse I marked it out with a ruler and raised it about half way and then over to the flat bench with a large flat bar and worked around the edge of my line pounding on it to take the warp out of it and crisp up the edge , then brought it up more/pound/more.....etc.
Today i trimmed the back some and the wheelhouse. Welded the upper quarter panels. Next the style lines.
Just visited a buddy today that bought a rat rod gone wrong. 34 Plymouth 5 window coupe turned into a PU. Crap..... i needed the tail.

Hey, great looking project and you've come a long way. Has anyone tried something like this for a 35-36 Ford truck with success?
