This radiator is im my '36. Previous Owner installed a thick core cross-flow, turned it on it's right side, relocated the filler neck, the drain pet**** is now in the upper left hand corner and not down below. Is this radiator now a down-flow? See how the side mounts/braces are now top and bottom mounts. Will this improvised radiator create cooling problems with the integrated trans cooler? I bought this project car off eBay without engine and ******. Would you trust this radiator to cool sufficiently? It is so "hokey ***" looking I thought about keeping it and not spending $$ on a new alum down-flow.

OK, aside from the fact that it's ****-ugly, it'll probably work fine. I have cross flow's turned on end, one laying flat, and they don't care how they're oriented, they cool just fine.

That said, I have one under the hood of my '51 Pontiac, under the original shroud, completely hidden, and one under the floor of my '36, also completely hidden. I'd think twice about opening the hood of that car if it were me...

I've never seen that before. In theory it should work/cool just fine. On the other hand, keeping a motor cool sure does pro long its life and might be a worthwile investment to get a correct radiator for that application. Not to mention looks with the pet **** way up in the air. :)

Keep your $ in your pocket until you see if it works. Get the car done and running often requires us to st---reach our money. If it works replace it later if you feel the need.

You ain't kiddin! Many hiccups along the way to launch. :eek:Ordered a trans temp gauge and inline return manifold so I can monitor the AOD trans temp with this improvised radiator's internal trans cooler. Will clean the radiator and use semi-flat black paint.
