Making event tee shirts a art form

I would guess that quite a few of us have stored up a bunch of "special" event tee shirts and have them parked in a drawer or closet.

I had quite a few saved over the years and came up with a idea to do "something" with them to preserve them and be able to show them off or just check em out.

Took them to a local quilter who cut them up and put them on a hand made quilt to put in the back seat of the car or on the bed.

The work is great and now these old tees are a work of art for sure. Any interest in having one done send me a PM and I can hook you up with the quilter lady.

The workmanship is over the top.

We have about 3 big quilts made of old rod run T shirts. HRP

 

Looks great! I think I have about 4 or 5 of those huge plastic tubs full of old T-shirts. I had entertained the idea of making some of them into a headliner for my Safari wagon as the old one has seen much better days.Still may give it a shot.
A friend of mine in town is married to a woman who owns a quilting shop and teaches cl***es as well. HMMMM! Another future project maybe?

Damn, I'm going to have to take up quilting now! Maybe even start a quilting group.

 

I've got a cousin who used to have a quilt shop and still has her quilt machine who might make one for someone who has the shirts and wants one. I sent her a message asking if she might be interested and if so if she could come up with a set price for a certain size.

 

Heck, on the old HAMB, guys would be jumping in to tell you how gay quilt making is, now they all want to make quilts....

Kinda like the headliner idea, myself.

I got my Mom's quilting machine when she p***ed.
Mostly for the two 1948 Singer Industrial sewing machines.
The guy at the sew shop said they were top of the line back then, and would bounce a .45. The guy at the higher end interior shop in town offered to trade an interior for the 57 Country sedan for one. Watch the estate sales.

 

Any blanket that spent some time in my back seats was eventually full of souvenirs, too.
