I installed the valve covers that my brother in law gave me for Christmas. While I was doing that I managed to run the plug wires under the headers. Looks so much better! The first pic is how the wiring looked when I got the car, the second pic is after I cleaned it up enough that I wouldn't be embarr***ed to drive it and the third pic is today. Next will be painting the headers. I have some high heat primer and silver, but am starting to think that white might look better...
Improvement! Nice brother in law too. You really ought to think about losing that gl*** fuel filter. They are a fire waiting to happen.
Thanks Lloyd. The radiator hose doesn't bother me, and I put the velocity stack on because I like it! If you look at the third pic, you can see that the fuel filter has been replaced...
do you have an oven big enough to bake your heat paint? white is a ***** to keep clean. you gonna blast the headers before paint? maybe check into hi heat powder coating? valve covers look good. stack looks good to, goes with wheels time frame. maybe paint over msd on dist. cap cover? is the steering u-joint off a lawnmower?
Good progress, 1995 probably is glad to have their billet back! Much cleaner look without wires all over.
Knocking the ugly off one piece at a time... when I got this car it had barbed wire around the windshield, plastic dice stuck on the ends of bolts, a framing hammer for a shifter... all kinds of cool stuff! And it would run for 5-10 seconds before flooding out. It ran long enough for me to tell that the engine was okay. Added a fuel regulator and rebuilt the carburetor, now it runs great, no taps or knocks, no smoke... I just enjoy working on it and making it my own...
Yeah,,,looks a lot better. After your headers,,,reroute that breather hose,,,,,neat it up a little. I like the velocity stack myself. And the plug wires look much better. Tommy
Great looking updates rusty!!! Looks way cleaner!!! I think white headers would look nice on the car. The method of doing little things to clean it up and make it yours has been my method for years. When I use to flip cars my friends started saying after I bought them that I “Jimmyized” them. Keep up the nice work!!!
