Who has done it, what material have you used, any problems??? I need to try it, but am a little scared to use material that won't hold up or is too thin... Damn rare-ass carb Bullshit... thx. Mike
I used the regular carboard gasket material you get at the parts store, cut out the shape with a utility knife, roughed out the holes and then fine tuned em by putting it on the manifold and "tapping" around the holes with a ball peen hammer, just hard enough to score the cardboard and give you a pattern to cut out. Does that make any sense? I probly could explain it better, pm me if ya like. But its been working just fine for years now. -J.
Cool, Maybe I need a new NAPA... All they sell is the cork style stuff. I am pretty sure that stuff is not acceptable for Intake applications... M-
I have used the black paper gasket material from the parts store before. Works just as good as an OEM gasket (if you make it right). Get a hole punch set from Harbor Freight- it makes making the gaskets a whole lot easier.
I use regular gasket paper. Hold it steady, and rub your greasy hand over it hard. Now you have a perfect pattern.........OLDBEET
Look anything like this? If so I have two, ones a bit bent but a dab of silicone should fix it. they're yours if they'll work. pic.
Wuss! Strap one on and grow a pair! If you make your own, you'll have 100 miles on that pig by the time the mailman brings DrJ's gasket! Just kidding, at least you KNOW this one will work.
What mailman? We don't need no stinking mailman! (No offense to Brewsir, just kidding) We live in the same hood! El Longo Ese!
Deyo, I may be lazy, but I think Doc lives (at most) a couple of miles from me... I may have to get out from in front of the computer for a couple of minutes tomorrow M-
Well no shit, I guess I'm a dumbass... You both have your profiles filled out and everything, and I still didn't realize...
Ah, at this time of night (7-8 Beers for the average hamber), what can you expect Thanks for the help... M-
