I appreciate the kind words --- getting really close to actually driving this thing!

Funny you mention that -- I had thought about trying to use it for the headlights and that's exactly what we ended up doing. They are a single filament halogen bulb, so we didn't even have to wire in a high/low switch with it.

Nice! -- yet more similarities :)

Nice to meet you, too! Hopefully those springs work in your '58.

Spaghetti is right! Thankfully I had help -- wiring confuses me!

Not much in the way of photos, but we did get alot of the wiring done yesterday. My buddy, Jason, and his dad, Lowell, helped with the wiring. I used a Rebel 9+3 kit. It's a very nice kit that is set up for a GM Column. That being said, I'm not sure it's the kit I should've gone with. It will still work just fine, but there are a TON of wires that I wont' be using.

I'm not installing turn signals and really don't have much extra for things that need to be wired up, but it still takes time to do it right!

We got about 75% of it done yesterday and I have a list of a few little things I need to get to finish it.

    Other things now done:
    -Driveshaft shortened and installed
-Brakes are completely bled and functioning, except for a faulty (NEW) brake light switch
-Front engine items are all figured out and the pulleys actually line up! Anyone who has dealt with small block Fords, knows the pulleys can be a pain in the ass. Single groove pulleys are from a '65 Galaxie at U-Pull-It, water pump is '75 Ford Bronco (outlet on passenger side), balancer is Professional Products brand from Speedway (has both 3- and 4-bolt pulley patterns), timing cover is the one that came on the engine - '86 Mustang 302.
-One-wire Ford-mount alternator from Summit (Tuff Stuff brand, I think) will work, but there is very little adjustment before the wire connection hits the passenger side head. Will add a photo later.
-Figured out/purchased the right AN- fittings for the fuel tank.

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting right now.
Will be working on it every night this week and it should actually be running by next weekend.
    Still lots to do!

Glad to see you're getting the wiring done (most of it, anyway)! Won't be too long and you'll be tearing up the roads!!!

Wiring is pretty much done. It's been a pain in the ass, but I sure learned alot!
Took the radiator in to have the lower connection changed from straight out to 45 deg. angled down. The alternator belt would've hit the lower hose with a straight out connection.
My buddy, Jason, finished up the decklid hinge and latch work. Thanks alot, Jason!
Lots of other little things have been done and still need to be done.

This Sunday I plan to have it running and hopefully drivable....

Well, it's Sunday night. We put in another 12-hour day out in the garage and it was 100+ again today.

I've thanked them before, and I need to again---
Tom and Jason Holland - Thanks a TON for all of the help the past couple of weeks! This car would not be running right now if you guys hadn't helped out so much.

By the way, IT RUNS AND DRIVES!!
We started it around 5:30 I think and had to put the steering column in, seat in, and some other odds n ends. Drove it around the block a few times around 7:30. It is awesome to finally have this thing running and driving!

Of course, I have a list of things that need to be fixed/finished. The used Edelbrock carb definitely needs a kit. Radiator to firewall rods/supports need shortened and installed, windshield fitted/installed/glass cut, headlight mounts fabricated/installed, etc. etc. etc....

I got rid of the old taillight 'bar' that I made. Just wasn't growing on me.
New location. The license plate light is mounted under the car and the plate will be mounted just behind the rear axle pumpkin.

Just don't think you can run a windshield now...it just looks too sinister without it. Looks fantastic, congrats!
