    Hey guys -
I'm not usually on this end of a post like this (thank goodness) , but I guess it's my turn :( .

This past saturday , while I was heading off to a fun day at the Jalopy Showdown , my wife's dad was headed to the hospital . He was in the garage & fell & hit his head ... not a good thing for anyone , let alone an older dude . He had/has issues with brain swelling & bleeding and some motor skill issues & has been in intensive care under close watch since he's there . Today , they found some blood clots heading towards his lungs and had to operate . He made it through , but is FAR from out of the woods & is still in very rough shape . He's not much of as car guy anymore , but is a GOOD guy . He worked hard all his life , he (and the wife , of course) raised a few kids of his own , along with several foster kids , dealt with their house burning down a few years back , things like that ... all without a complaint or second thought . He doesn't deserve to go down like this ... a fall in his garage .
My daughter's 3rd birthday is in a week & she'd like her pop-pop to be around for it , so any/all thoughts & prayers certainly couldn't hurt .

Ironically , I lost MY grandfather a week before our daughter was born & we buried him the day my wife went into the hospital . This time of year has been both tough & joyful the past few years , only to potentially get tougher :( .

He needs your thoughts , so let 'em fly - thanks for listening to me ramble .

Having dealt with blood clots and the aftermath, I sympathize with him and will say a prayer that he pulls through. The six months afterwards of blood thinners is really hard on the body, so just be there to help him along. God bless ya.

He'll pull through, just you watch! Sounds like he has many family, friends and loved ones to be with him. Sometimes, that makes all the difference. Best of wishes!

Buddy, he sounds like a truly Good Man. Something we see less and less of these days. Wishes and thoughts for a quick and full recovery. We need to keep the good ones around as long as we can.

A prayer has gone up for the healing of your father-in-law. In 1988 I was struck by a collapsing overhead industrial door. I went through 7 brain/head/spine operations followed by 1 1/2 years in a rehab hospital relearning how to walk, feed and dress myself and write my name.
Through it all I had many praying for me and I can ***ure you it was the difference between living here or going home to be with my heavenly Father. I'll continue to pray for his recovery.

Hoping things go better now that so many of us are sending prayers your way.

Faith that things will go as they are supposed to no matter the outcome will help hold you together.

The same thing happened to a guy at work a few months ago. He went down head first on a concrete floor. He had a "brain bleed" and clotting and spent several weeks in the hospital and rehab. He's back at work now and doing well. So there is hope, and if he is in good and capable hands at the hospital he will pull through.

Thoughts and hopes with ou Bro. Having lost both my parents in the last three years and having my yougest brother in bad shape I certainly sympathize. There's nothing worse than being in your position and not being able to do a damn thing to help. The waiting is the worst.

Best of luck to him for a speedy recovery.

Thanks guys - the thoughts mean a lot . He's not really been "with it" through the whole thing , so that doesn't help . Taking it day by day . That's all we CAN do .

  30. Buddy, talked with you saturday at the showdown. With all the good prayers and thoughts coming from this site and having such a caring son-in-law and family I'm sure he will get thru this OK.
He is in our thoughts and prayers.
