Sure would suck to have that thing slip off those bricks and send that fan flying through the garage wall or better yet the guy by the wall!

Sounds awesome. I also kept waiting for it to fall off the bricks and lurch violently as the turning pulley hit the ground. Probably not a stunt to duplicate

Damn Jason! I'm going to make sure my phone is on, just in case I get a phone call concerning you and your amputated leg.

Although we all know a flathead is safe on a couple bricks, it's not like there's enough torque there to knock itself over :D

Your right nothing sonds like a flathead. Just not a good way to go about it.

  10. I too was waiting for the motor to roll over and start flinging concrete chips and fan bits all over the place.

Oh yeah, nothing sounds like a flathead!

THEM!ers are known for doing crazy shit anyways!! :D

Don't get your panties in a wad! The oil pan of the engine is sitting deep in a tire. The pully doesn't even touch the ground when the bricks are gone, but it noses down, and I wanted to prop it up to look more straight. Fan is much higher than the pully. Impossible for it to hit the ground.

I'm also holding the coil wire on the battery with my fingertip, so as soon as I flinch, the engine cuts out.

Hell yeah I couldn't wait to get it in the rails..

Hey... I lived to tell about it and I'm sure I'll do it again!! :D :D

I can think of all kinds of reasons you'd "flinch"!!:D Dude, that's funny! A Flattie always sounds soooo good! Thanks for sharing. I've got one out in the garage. I think I'll hang it from the rafters with a bunch of bungie cords, rev it up to about 5000 RPM, and see if It'll take off like an airplane! If I'm not back in an hour, send help.:D

Did the same thing, Not the smartest , but it does get your blood running on the inside and hopfully not on the outside. We had ours on the chain hoist resting in tires. Fired it because we could. Can't stay within the lines all the time.Do not try this at home . But fun! Now bolt it down and drive the crap out of it.
