Arguments aside. It sure feels good to share a board with folks who wouldn't throw rocks at me for havin' Black Sabbath, The Stooges, Faron Young, and Dwight Yoakam all in the same cd collection.

I think most of us can agree that all "new" music is just like "new" cars. The only decent product is the stuff that tries to sound/look just like the old stuff. That's why I lean toward the alt-country and roots-type acts. Dwight is about as slick as I dare to go, and that can be a slippery slope.

As for new country, searchin' for some real stuff in that genre can be as frustrating as lookin' for a real hot rod in Boyd's showroom.

 

Neko Case.

 

Neko has a HUGE voice. True talent. Check her out BR, she's easy on the eyes, too. Can't say I would throw Gretchen outta bed, though.
