SON OF A.........................You just HAD to wait till good wether got here to do that didn't you??? Good luck on the recovery. I'm 55 and I need to reshingle my house and my kids...I think I'll just hire it out this time!
Hate to hear that....recover soon! On the plus side, we expect to see some COOL plans for additions to your garage decor over the next several weeks.
Man I feel so sorry for you. Its like one of those things you read and you get that tingly feeling in the bottom of your stomach...eef...seeing your foot facing the wrong direction. Well, on the bright side the pic of your house you posted way back seems like ya fixed it up nice, so you have a nice place to hang around in your off time! Get better!
Too bad man.... best of luck with your recovery! Bring something inside... Have someone stack some wheels in front of the couch to polish!
Glad to hear you're OK - you're lucky, even if it doesn't seem so to you now. Ladders can be very dangerous, even a few feet off the ground. Years ago the father of the girl that we had babysit our kids, had about the identical accident only he wound up with a blood clot that went to his heart and killed him. He was only 38 years old and left 3 kids with his wife.
hey chaz im sitting in the old lazy boy sending you this message, i broke both bones also 5 weeks ago ! but not as bad as you, i fell on some steps in snow. only had to wear a boot on it .every thing was still in place! going back for another xray in a week. swelling finally going down. stay on the hamb, its the only thing that kept me from going nuts! good luck! rich
i think the worst part is having the time off and not being able to do anything. i've been going to physical therapy three times a week since january 2nd. i fell from the back of the work truck back in december. i tore up my rotator cuff pretty bad and ripped the tendon that attaches my bicep loose from the bone. i've read three books in my time off and spend alot of time here. take it easy, let it heal. hope you get to feeling better soon. you are right about the care you receive. the surgeon, the nurses and hospital workers and the the******s are all top notch. now the insurance *****s are another story.
Take your time and HEAL UP! I was in a crash two years ago and shattered my left forearm--stainless plates and screws in both bones. Doctor didn't give me good post-surgery/healing instructions so I healed crooked. Went in with a crooked-*** arm to a second Doc, he took x-rays and discovered the arm was STILL BROKEN a full year after surgery...second surgery to remove broken plate and screws (yes, the stainless plate was broken inside my arm), 3 months after that I am FINALLY out of a cast. November '06 to April '08 healing process...you want to avoid that, trust me.
Hope you get well soon. My dad tried walking backwards down a ladder once. He slip about 8 feet from the ground landed on one foot, and shattered the lower bone so bad it came out the side of his leg.
