WI is pre 40 also ... I had a cop pull me over for blue dots, and he gave me **** about not haveing fenders...told me "don't bring this thing back to his town again" and gave me a 10 day warning for the blue dots.
Not sure if Okie land has a state fender law or not - good idea, I'll check it out as our fender free roadster should be on the road this spring. As backward as Oklahoma is in many things, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a felony around here! However, I've not heard of any trouble from the law on this but I suspect that as long as ya aren't acting crazy they might leave ya be. Either way, I wouldn't be "ridin dirty". Personal experience!
Ive beat over 10 blue dot tickets,1st never admiit its blue the orig name was purple glows, purple is also a shade of red (take a color spectrumwheel to court with you) also have them write the exact veh. code you might have broke 9 times outa 10 they will write the code that covers police emergancy lites,i.e. flashing or rotating a tail lite is neither, this has worked for me in washington, oregon and arizona....know the law and what it REALLY says
Delaware has a fender law for both ends. You would never get it through mv as the state does all the inspections here at no cost.
B.C. has always had a fender law but it wasnt enforced. Then we had one of the best shows ever, Duece Day 2007 in Victoria BC on and around the BC Gov. Parliment buildings front lawn ect. The problem with that was the some of the powers that be noticed there wasnt any bumpers fenders or hoods on alot of the 432 or so 32 fords in attendance something had to be done! So now any hot rod found to not conform to the MV act is to be taken off the road until it p***es a complete MV inspection.I havent heard of any one getting busted but its coming.
I stand corrected.I was told when i got my t-bucket inspected about 5 years ago I didn't need fenders on the car by the inspection station.I just looked it up on the M*** RMV website and it says "4.04 Procedures for Inspection of Non-Commercial Motor Vehicles Fenders. Front and rear fenders must be in place on all vehicles manufactured after model year 1949 if such vehicles were designed and manufactured to be operated with front and rear fenders. Every p***enger motor vehicle which is equipped with tires which extend beyond the fenders or body of such vehicle shall be equipped with flaps or suitable guards to reduce such spray or splash to the rear and side"
Here in NZ, you have to be a member of NZ Hot Rod ***n. for a minimum 2 year period, then you can apply to the ***n, providing a letter from your Club that you are a "fine upstanding member" along with a $25 fee. This will give you the ability to operate a pre 35 fenderless vehicle for a period of 12 months after which another fee is required for a further 12 months. The alternative....no fenderless rods. This is way better than nothing!
