Mandrel tubing bender-can it be home built?

    the sketch in your link is very similar to the one I was thinking of

    but the one I saw, and it may have used this diagram

    showed in pictures the total construction of the bender, from turning the egg on a lathe to making bends..

    This bender requires NO 180* (half round) tubing support from the die or the follower, yet it gives perfect distortion free bends?

    Man...thats just TOO frickin' EASY to build to work that good!!!

    Wouldn't be hard to make that thing hydraulic either...
