Yes, there are several threads about pcv venting on newer blocks. Depends on which intake, and wether to drill or not. Excellent post. Sent from my SM-G900P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Later model 350 block with an early Holley Street Dominator (single plane) intake that had the oil fill tube, swapping it in the 48 that has a Mr Gasket header crankcase evacuation system so tapped it for 2 ******s.
That Edelbrock RPM Airgap intake is very hard to beat, numerous dyno tests prove it, not just some seat of the pants yokel jokel test. CarCraft did an intake dyno comparison where they tested about 20 dual plain intakes and about 20 single plain intakes. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/dual-plane-intake-manifold-comparisons/ https://www.hotrod.com/articles/19-single-plane-small-block-chevy-intakes-test/ From experience I can attest that the oil fill breather alone is not enough, I tried that on my old Henry J motor and it was trying to push gaskets, so you've definitely got to think that through if you want to run valve covers without breathers As far as that old Corvette 2x4 intake, I agree it's to small to do that motor any good, I do have an extra C26 with 500 cfm Carters though if you're really considering a vintage 2x4 unit.
So guys, a little update is in order regarding this older thread. I did indeed find an original Winters casting Lt 1 manifold from one of my oval track buddies. I checked the parts numbers and it is for sure an original. I had to pony up a 100 bucks for the piece. My engine guy said about the Edelbrock several of mention. He was putting one on another motor as we were talking. He did say the original Chevy piece would be nice to complement this type of motor. By coincidence I picked up the manifold that very afternoon. I brought it to him the next morning. He was amazed that I came up with the piece so quickly. Me as well. He cleaned it in his blast cabinet. It really came out nice. The motor is finished and back at my shop awaiting installation.
