I'd start by measuring the bore of the one on the car now. Might also post a few pictures of it, so we can see what it looks like.

  3. You don't need a parts number the guy at the parts counter can look it up. If you take the broken one with you a comparison can be made. You will need it for a core anyway.

Keep in mind Corvette never had a disc/drum master. They went from drum/drum to disc/disc.

  5. yea it would take or want a residual valve on the drum side.

Our '40 uses a master for a '65 vette. It works fine disc drum, I have not been over the brake system yet so I cannot say what the actual setup is.

yes I have the 10lb and 2lb residual in the system to match disc and drum. is there a special valve or port in the power master cylinder compared to manual?

One thing to check is that some of these have a “shallow bore” (1/4 inch deep) and some have a “deep bore” (1 1/2 inch deep). Where the push rod goes into the piston. I happen to know that the 1.125 piston with a shallow bore is
Auto Zone part number NM1749. I think the deep bore was used with manual brakes.

  14. All Vette blocks are GM blocks but not all GM blocks are Vette blocks. LOL
Kind of makes me chuckle. I know of a '40 somethinerother that a '65 Vette was one of the vehicles cannibalized to build it. The only thing about the motor that makes it any different than any other '65 300 horse 327 is the numbers. I guess one could brag about it and thoroughly piss the corvette people off. LOL it does have the master off the same wreck and it is different than common Chevy masters of that year.

Pissing the corvette people off is worth the price of admission though. :D
