This past Saturday, the car customizing world lost a true master craftsman. My friend, Mark McGee passed away at the age of 49. He had been battling cancer. He had just completed his finest work to date, the '54 Chevy pictured here. I was fortunate to get to know him through my work at Case Western Reserve University. I watched the project take form over a few years. He was a perfectionist and took his time ensuring every phase met his exacting standards. He was a humble man and never lost his sense of humor. When I was first putting my car together, he lent me an engine hoist on very short notice. His work ethic and inner strength were reflected in everything he did. I will miss him. The next time you hear thunder in the Chagrin valley, look for the glint of the sun off of twin chrome tailpipes. He's gone down that road we all must travel someday. We'll meet again, old friend.
