jeez, I can't even drill out accurately aligned holes in sheetmetal...and I look at the stuff you build.

I'm speechless at the work you're doing!

When the e-brake is done the next thing will be a shifter, goin to suit your new ride perfectly. That car is awsome :)........and you are not allowed to sell it !!!!!

Think I will only make a shifter-rod that works for a lokar mecanism.

Thanks guys for all the comments :)
Hey slepy, I can,t do that too. You know im cheeting, im running a waterjet for a living and that makes things a lot more easy.
Next thing you will do after reading this is to google "Draftsight cad".
It is a free 2d cad program simular to autocad, it is easy to learn and there
is even lessons on youtube for it.
When you learn how to draw you can mail your drawings to your local water/lazer cutter.
Please take the time it takes to learn this, You will thank me for this advise ;)

Edit: I just made a tread about it.

Made the new sheet , I think my new latch might be made for rumble style and I will
have to mill it down to fit.

I sheated, there should be a dip around the latch bolt. I made the hole bigger to let the wrench fit instead. The handel thread/nut will be on the inside.

I think you mean you "cheated". Your work doesn't look like sheat at all.

:Dthat would be "I shat myself!" I'm joking man and I know you were too. You speak better English than many Americans!

    The trunklid looks great.

As far as cheating goes, dude, you can't even tell. Maybe the Pebble Beach guys might be able to, but I can't and am really enjoying this build. Craftsmanship is bar none. Go man go!

While dealing with the trunk I decided to solve the hinge issue.
The original holes are more square then round after all years and
even if I take care of them the trunk wont be adjustable.

I read about an old fart saying that there is no pride making parts with modern
machines so thats exactly what I want to do , some hi-tech shit ;).............again.

Started with some drawings , a great thing here is that it,s possible to rotate the hinge
and see how many degrees it can move.

The long rod is nice to get the hinges in line with each other while mounting, later there will be normal bolts.

One open and one closed. They look a lot bigger on the pics then what they really are.

I resently ordered the panel below the trunklid that is made of United Pacific Industries. It is complete with all the inside parts just as original. Hope its as good as it looks .
