So to close out this thread, I was able to cut the mount off using the surgical precision of my trusty sawzall. This allowed me to move the mount inside about 1/2", which really made all the difference. Now the pushrod runs straight when I mount it between the brake and clutch pedal.

When I deal with the clutch, I'll weld a threaded stud to it and mount the linkage from the outside. At least that's the plan. 20170529_151037.jpg

Old thread I know but searching and I’m in the similar situation with my pushrod. Sits in the bore just like yours and don’t feel to good the return spring will keep enough tension on pushrod. Did you still run that safety bracket you installed in one of your pictures?

I tried using a 80s Corvette master cylinder, but when I saw that it had just a very shallow hole got the pushrods, I was afraid to use it.i got one for a 1972 mustang with drum brakes and non power.it has the deep hole for the.pushrod and has the rod with the correct retaining ring

I always fab up an adjustable stop bolt to limit upward pedal travel. For one it eliminates the worry of the rod coming out of the MC. Two, it stops the pedal from bouncing around when your foot is not on it. You have to be careful, when adjusting the stop bolt.

It's still on there but I've yet to run it. I'm still waiting on my engine to be delivered (2 yrs late) and I have a ton of work stacking up behind getting that mounted.
