I have been a sculptor for over 40 years creating works in bronze stone and wood. When I was 18 and going into the service as a hospital corpsman during Vietnam, My Mom sold my 1946 Ford coupe! I was bummed out but was always looking for another one. This year I found another one in New Mexico and bought it! I am going to need some advice though it has been a long time since I worked on cars like this!
My first issue is how doe you get the starter out! The engine is ab 8BA V8 flathead. here are pictures of the starter etc. the transmission is a standard 4 speed. I saw on one thread stating all you had to do is remove the through bolts This just removed the outer case and the bushings I do not see any other bolts to remove and the starter is still tight in the car. I saw on the starter for an automatic it had a third off tab bolt but I do not see that on here. Can any one give me some advice?
