Glad I am one of the young ones at 61. I hope I do some traveling when I retire at 66.

  3. I thought I was the oldest here, at 74, but, thus far, a50Merc and TurboT are beyond me.
Have to say though, with all that life throws our way ..... and my way, in particular, I'm damn happy to be here, writing to you guys.
My mind still thinks like a kid, a prank is always just a few thoughts away. ;)

I will turn 73 next week. I still drive my fenderless Model A hotrod everywhere. Still take in the local shows in the city parks of our small town shows. By local I mean 100 mile drives just to get there. Couple of weeks ago we went 600 miles on Rt 66. No A/C or heater. A NamVet, Attended too many funerals and survived open heart surgery.

  9. QUOTE="oldschool66, post: 11725516, member: 61306"]Just got an invitation to my 50th H.S. reunion. A good chance to see people I haven't seen in 5 decades and have nothing in common with , think I'll pass on that and spend the day with my wife of 47 years and the Grand Kids. I'm 68 years old.[/QUOTE]

I had the same thoughts, as you, oldschool66.
I didn't have anything in common with my classmates, anymore.
But, after getting some convincing / pushing, my wife and I went to my 55th reunion last year.
I had the time of my life.
Funny thing, all the "ego attitudes" were now gone, folks were just nice folks.
I was reunited with a buddy, Norm, who I hadn't seen in so many years.
Norm was always a gearhead, became a Used Car dealer for many years, so our conversation, so many years later, picked right back up, as if we didn't have that gap of years in between.
Norm looked frail , I thought, but we had fun chatting about our high school cars, etc.
Norm passed away from cancer, about a week after our class reunion.
Norm's wife said getting to the reunion was his main objective, for he knew his time was limited.
I was so thankful that I went to that reunion, so thankful I got to see Norm, one more time.
Rethink your plans, oldschool66, so glad I did !

  11. The road to maturity is loonggg. I'm 71, been traveling the road for a while. Ran off the road and into the ditch a couple of times, but still mobile (and hope to be for a while yet).

61, retired six years now, serious heart attack last month just about killed me, but I'm getting revenge, gonna build a drag car and try my best to die in it. Hope it takes twenty years and a lot of passes.

  19. Seeing these ages pop up, it's no wonder there is such a wealth of knowledge here on H.A.M.B. :)

    I refuse to Grow Up.
I'll remain immature until the day I Die.

  24. I marked off the years steadily until I retired...now into my 13th year time in grade as an old galoot...73 last March. Maturity is highly over rated!
