Getting ready to swap from original axle to a Maverick. Curious if any one else has done this and if the 55 emergency cables will fit the Maverick backing plates/ brake arm connection.
I haven’t done the Maverick but the stock cable can be used on an arm that’s not exactly the same as your 55. I’m betting the bottom of the e-brake arm is the same as yours. The one on a 89 F150 didn’t look the same but the slot at the end of arm worked anyway. A small fuel line hose clamp can help you get yours apart. Make sure the hole is the same size. 55 drums are 11” and Mavericks are 10”. May be closer to the springs but many have done the swap.
Thanks jimmy six, just thought I could save dis***embling the shoes and such if they won't work. The hole diameter is what I think may be different. Guess I will find out.
I put one in my 55 Victoria my stock e brake cables worked fine i did not have to move my spring pads on the rear end the were close enough you can use a 9\16 box end wrench slid over the end of the e cable where they come in the back plate to compress fingers that hold the e cables to the backing plate worked for me
