Event Coverage May 15th - "Kustoms in Caruthers"... it's on!

We are having an innagural car show/fundraiser to benefit our local youth ASA (Amatuer Softball ***n) teams (we have a total of eleven teams, ages 7-14).

We just received permission this week from the local fair board to have it on the District fairgrounds itself (was going to be at the ball fields, which would've limited our vehicle count to around 100 or so). We now have room for about 300 cars and trucks, and even an area now for the bike crowd.
The fairgrounds is just about 10 miles southwest of Fresno, Ca., off state Fwy 41.

All proceeds go directly towards uniforms, equipment, and playing field maintenance/improvements at our Caruthers ballpark and our Riverdale ballpark complex.

Hoping to make this an annual event, in fact at our last meeting the local chamber of commerce heads asked if they could be involved next year and create a cruise (complete with blocked off streets) on their main drag thru town.

If you're in the area, or are a local HAMB'er, grab the car(s), family, and any others of the "rodding" persuasion and drop on by.

Bumping our little car event up since this is our "prep" week for our show.

Have gotten alot of calls from both individuals and a few clubs that sound like they may be showing up, along with a few parts vendors.

Again, looking to make this show an annual event, so I'll be tweaking it from the input I get from this year's show, and will start planning next year's show, immediately following this one (we only had a few months to plan out this year's show, and already have a list for next year).

Once again inviting all the valley HAMB'ers to come on out for a good cause and a good time. The weather looks to be sunny and in the low 80's.

The sun gods have apparently returned to California's Central Valley...
so if you're coming out tomorrow, bring some shade with ya (EZ-ups, Umbrellas, etc),
was sweating my you know what out at the fairgrounds setting things up today.

I'll be under an EZ-up at the vehicle registration in the morning, so if you're a HAMB member please introduce yourself so we can get you and your car pics up on our post-show thread posts.

Come on out and burn up a few hours of your Saturday!
