I think you’re referring to Bill Stipe, Specially Motor Cams. This is his web-page, the article about his Chevy Cam is there.

The right guy and engine, but a more detailed version of the story than I remembered. Also, it didn't include these little pictures. Wish they were bigger.

Must be a neighbor's kid. Yours was (is?) about 11 last time I saw him.

  10. Not the neighbors kid, Mine, and cost a ton to feed....

  11. The Vintage Auto Racing Association (VARA) event at Buttonwillow Raceway, "British Extravaganza" was held several weeks ago. The weather was perfect (though somewhat warm on Sunday). There were plenty of participants in the Race Groups other the the Historic/PreWar Group.

5 of Brian Blain's "Ragtime Racers" were entered. Bernard Dervieux towed his Allard J2 all the way from Palm Springs; and I brought my Miller-Scofield/Ford. We had a great time lounging and launching from the shade of the many trees that are in the facility. (photos below)

It's a shame more haven't joined us at such a "Laid Back" family fun" gathering. And I guess it is no wonder that many event organizers have decided not to include our Group in their plans. It is sad to watch our Group in the apparent throes of demise.

Hah, don't see how that could be a 15 year old. He's got the bill of his cap facing forward. Maybe that ridiculous bill in the back fad is finally gone.

Glad to see a youngster interested in building things instead of just playing with his phone full time. Good for him.

Drum... or hub...? Models A lug studs are swedged to retain the brake drums onto the hubs. You will need to pull the rear hubs to access the brakes. And you will need to machine off the swedged section of the studs (just below the threads) to remove the drums

Do you have a drum puller, make sure your brakes are backed off and maybe you will have to disconnect the emergency brake linkage. I am assuming this is your driver car if so you will have an easier time . In the last 60days I have dismantled 3 rear ends, all had been sitting for years, every thing was rusted together, the only thing that saved me was several glasses of some California Red. Are you going this year ?
