I keep getting that reminder to post to the intro forum, so...
Picked my first car magazine (Jan. 1966 Car Craft) at the tender age of ten, and forty years later, I still have it. Well, the same issue, not the same mag... I lean more towards the drag racing side, was part of the Nitronic Research braintrust before we shot that beast in the head in 2003... still run the "Awful Awful Fuel Altereds" website <www.mysterion.net/AAFA>, and I think I'm one of the last guys (or close to it) that still prints lacquer water slide decals in the USA.
Up until last year, never owned anything newer than 1976 (and that was IN 1976). Currently own a 1956 Buick Special Estate Wagon, a 1966 Chev 3/4 ton, a 1973 Suburban (which donated it's name for my screen name) and a little Jap SUV that shall go unmentioned from now on. But it does have a 94 Camaro 3.4 V6 in it...
I'm sure there's more, but I'm at work, and can't remember...

Welcome, Jim, and thanks for the website - I've enjoyed it for years. Cole did the right thing by pulling the plug when he did, but I do miss the site.

Pull up a stool and dispense some wisdom.

    Cole Foster,

Thanks for the welcome, and congrats on the wedding. Your old man was very pleased about that, at least he was when we last talked...

And Mutt, glad to see there are still some old Nitronic fans out there. If we could have run that site like this one, our lives would have been much easier, but that Coonce guy's kind of an anarchist at heart. I'll try and get popping on the Awful Awful site, as fuel altereds are the last true descendants (at least on the drag strip) of the original hot rods. At least that's the way I see it...

Welcome oscar and the fuel altereds were the wildest things I can remember back in the 60's at the strip!

Glad to see ya here, J-So. I've been pimping the hell out of your site.

And speaking of Cole Coonce, I saw on the credits of Jepardy tonight that audio was handled by one Cole Coonce!! (Yes, I watch jepardy, what can I say? I'm a square) Is that THE Coonce? He's been describing his bicycle adventures with such vigor, I'm back into riding mine these days.

Yep, that's Senor Coonce. He also does Wheel of Fortune. Him and Pat Sajak are ...like this!... LOL! How do you think we pulled off the Big Drags CD? Sound engineer shit!

Now I need to figger out a transition into the general populace rather than over in newb world...
