Anyone familiar with this machine shop? Just curious more than anything after picking up this bellhousing for my Cadillac 331 this past week.

That is an "n". The line that makes it seem like an "m" is just connecting the "i" to it.

It's perfectly traditional to talk to yourself, especially in the shop. Only start to worry when the dog starts answering you :D

A company that engraves their name like on parts that in cursive is pretty cool. Reminds me of the craftsman signatures on Rolls Royce parts. A far step above a Summit or Jegs sticker.

    Cheers,

I don't have dyslexia, but, like @Moriarity, I too am a retired machimist and it looks like their cursive CNC machime needs a little reprogramming.

@Budget36 It is an engraving or at least material is gone not added. And, at this rate, this worthless thread will be featured. :D

  17. I just hit the like on every post.

I have the CF-52 hanging on my shop wall, along with one that replaces a Lincoln V12 with a flathead Cadillac V8. I love the lettering, it looks like they picked the guy in the casting shop with the best handwriting and had him carve the lettering in with a grinding stone. I'd love to have two identical part numbered bells together to see if they are an exact match, or if they really did cut the lettering into each one after the casting.

  23. I like talking to my dog.... it's about the only way to have an intelligent conversation in today's world! And yes, we DO argue sometimes, but he's usually wrong and very bull-headed!

Y’ll get together, one of you trace copy theirs on a piece of paper and mail it to the other guy. Then you could compare them!

Don’t worry it’s just the way we used to spell it in Indiana. It’ll be ok all you machimery lovers!

I used to get like that when I was building water towers in your part of the world after a night of playing pool for shots of Peppermint Schnapps. ;)

Well, at least you can read that guy's cursive...
I almost flunked out of hand writing class, and spelling class. It looks pretty good to me....

Engraving free hand as deep as that was done had to be hard, then add a curved surface to engrave all that into into. Maybe the doubters should grab a bell and give it a try.

If that dog is kinda large and has horns, it may be a cow. They are often bull-headed. Not so talkative though.
