The search function appears to be busted, so if this has been posted before, I guess the beer's on me. History of Robert Paxton McCulloch: http://www.vs57.com/history.htm I particularly was intrigued by his flathead centrifugal. Anyone on here have one? Nice history.... makes me want to take back the SN60 I gave Dad.
I want one of these Mcculloch flattie superchargers soooooo bad. Throw a slingshot on the the top 2 stroms and a sweet aircleaner makes my pants happy I tell ya. There is one on that site just listed today and is already about 1300 clams
I like this engine! Heads are Alexander. I could build something similar with Dixon heads. I'll put it on my list of things to do.
Not mine... Anyway, bump! These things look so sick. Anyone running a vs57 on their car? Let's see those too
got one of these from a Stude bought it for 25$ from a kid that thought it was for a blacksmiths forge !I plan to use it on a former 2.3 SVO turbo motor in a T bucket
Damn, I've been around a lot of years and I have NEVER seen one of those blowers. I have known about McCulloch and Paxton units since the 50s but never saw a supercharger on a hot rod until they started adapting the 4.71 GMC truck blowers to V8s.
ya it's the same company or was,it's now Paxton if you go to Paxton Superchargers online you can read the history of the company they supplied superchargers as origional equiptment to several automobile manufacturers in the 50s and 60s they were even offered as a factory option on the chevrolet Corvair according to Clarks Corvairs of Shelburn falls M***!
Here is the one that was on my Comet till I blew the bottom out of the motor. Mid 60's Shelby made by Studebaker who owned Paxton at the time, or was it the other way around.
I've already posted this somewhere in here, but this looks like a McCulloch setup on a 37 Ford. The picture was supposed to be taken in period.
