I am starting this thread in respose to Nads bad experiance.
While most of us do most of our work ourselves, there are times when people ask for a recomdation or we just don't have the time. So I think we should start a thread of mechanics and shops that do quality work.

They work on everything from cube trucks to porches and do warrenty work.
I took my Bronco II there for years mostly electronic shit I couldn't figure out. and when my tranmision broke I had a extra. But they said they wouldn't install it because they couldnt garuntee the work. They could of made a easy $500 bucks off me but they didn't.

Top Value Muffler on Telegraph Road at Oxford (just South of Michigan Ave) in Dearborn, MI.

Over the years, they've done lots of custom and stock exhaust systems for me, a few suspension jobs...and they've ALWAYS done quality work at a fair price!

Many times, they've done quick 'favors' free of charge...like when I brought them a junkyard manifold that I was going to swap onto one of my drivers. I asked them to remove the rusty old studs and sell me some new ones. They got the old ones out and installed the new ones...wouldn't take a dime for it, either!

(I put the manifold on the car myself at home!)

I've also brought them sections of pipe that they've bent to my specs free of charge now and then!

When I had duals put on one of my old project cars, they listened to what I told them, and custom bent a system that was exactly what I had asked them for....a "hidden" set of duals with the pipes turned down behind the rear bumper and out of sight from behind the car...sleeper style!

It's the only place I'll take one of my project cars, late models or beaters for service!

    (Everything else I do myself!)

There ARE alot of bad eggs out there...but this place has NEVER done me wrong in nearly 15 years!

Gary Jeck and I worked together for a few years in a city shop. The boss had it in for him for some reason I never could figure out...the guy was a helluva wrench and knew his shit on the newer computer controlled stuff. He finally got a but-load of the boss and left to start his own shop in my area.....Amtech. He's expanded his shop and has 4 techs working for him now. I get all my A/C stuff done there and whenever anybody axes me to recommend a shop I tell 'em about Amtech....Quality work for a fair price..not cheap........fair.

Spirit Custom Exhaust - 2808 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, OH 330-385-4914

They do almost all my exhaust work and do a fantastic job and are cheap! They charge $180 for pretty much any complete full dual exhaust + mufflers, I got a quote of $350 from another shop so thats very reasonable.

    BTTT,
I see alot of muffler shops posted, but I don't want to limit it to just that. I guess I would like to compile a list so if your anywhere in the country and your ride breaks down also you'll know where to take it, whith out getting screwed.

I'm blowing my own horn, but you'll get the truth and honest work at a fair price. The franchises piss me off too! Every new customer has an attitude when they walk in the door. When I shave 200.00 off their Midas estimate, they walk out happier. I hope this isn't concidered spam.
