I was chasing electrical demons all week in the ol F100 and finally got it running pretty good today and went to drive it tonight and there were no headlights! Anyway, I took it out after Randy D left tonight (thanks for the engine by the way) and was enjoying my temporary triumph. That's when I met my new neighbor.
When you see a full tube framed 69 Mustang Fastback, a 34 Ford five window, and a garage full of serious milling tools you have to stop and meet the new guy. This guy builds compe***ion headers out of his garage for a living. I stopped in (uninvited of course) just in time for the first firing of his mustang. It's an all aluminum dual quad 417 inch SVO small block backed by a Lenco with gorgeous open headers. It was pretty impressive to hear. Anyway, after some chatting he offered to make me a limited run of MEL header flanges. It will take a couple of weeks to get to but I believe they will only be $100 per set and from what I've seen there, I expect they will be perfect. So if you have a Mercury 383, 430, Edsel 410, or Lincoln 430 or 462, or a Ford 430 and want headers, this is the ticket. There is another place that makes flanges but they are over $200 each. If there is any interest (G***erKid?) please let me know as this is a one shot deal with the setup of his CNC for me.

Yeah, fortunately I told him that I don't think anyone is going to realize that the truck belongs to me since it's so incon****uous and I part it outside. It sounded good coming down the street though! Part of that was Randy hangin his head out the window screaming "VROOOOM VROOOOM" on his way down the street with the big block wide open.
On a related note, anyone who doesn't know Randy D or his dad are missing out on some good people.
Check out the wheel and make sure you like and then I'll catch up with you at either goodguys or the road rocket rumble hopefully.

I was cracking up on the way home when my pops told me about how you and your wife were cringing when i stood on er a little going down your street. I look at it like its a desensitization process for the tight-***ed neighbors. The more you "introduce" them to the wonderful world of hotrodding the more they come to embrace it. I'll come by and take that truck out for a neighborhood drive weekly if you need me to. heh heh heh. sounded good anyway, didn't it? Oh yeah, Thanks again for the 'parting gift'!

The truck is running good but still no headlights. Haven't had a chance to revisit that yet. Trying to get the garage organized right now. The truck is still not as fast as I'd hoped it would be and I'm guessing that has most to do with the gears and the ****py automatic ******. I'm really tempted to stick one of these MEL's in there with a 4 speed and think I probably will this winter and then change the rearend out too. Nothing is ever done!

Hey Scoob I know it is pretty basic and all but did you check the dimmer switch?? Damn I wish I had a MEL. That is a pretty good deal on those flanges.
