Okay crazy question. Has anyone ever tried to put a 54 Mercury hood on a 55 or 56 Ford? I'm looking for something a little different I kind of like the the T Bird hood scoop but I've seen a lot of them done. I've never seen this. I have no idea if the dimensions are even close or if I would have to graft it into my hood. Any thoughts or info are welcome.

Not really answering your question but I know you can exchange the front clip of a 1952-54 Merc on a 1952-54 Ford and visa versa. Not sure if the Mec hood will inter change with the Ford fenders. As for a 54 hood on a 55 that I do not know. But I am sure that if you have the time and the patience you can adapt almost anything if you really want to.

If you look at my avatar, that is a 54 Ford with 54 Merc sheet metal. Radiator support was moved out 3/4 inch.
