This intake was in my Uncle's hot rod shop that I'm helping him clean out. From my research, I've figured it's one of the M-335 intakes developed by Bill Stroppe Racing specifically to compete in NASCAR and USAC for Mercury for 1957. The homologation rules from NASCAR in 1957 required 100 cars to be built. The Stroppe-built run of cars had their production number stamped on the intake manifold. I haven't been able to find any numbers stamped on it so I'm thinking it was one of a few that were sold over the counter as a special order to modify your own Mercury Y-block. I saw one that looked perfect sell for almost $8000 (just the intake) and another sell with carbs and the M-335 valvecovers for $6500. I'm curious if anyone has a more realistic number that it's worth. The only damage I've been able to find is a small hairline crack in passenger side rear mount where it looks like someone set it down too hard. Thanks in advance for any input.
