Can't believe that...those late 60s Fords/Mercs suck as derby cars.

Here's some images I've gathered and the last one (the blue one) is mine.

Here's mine. Just bought it in the Bay Area, CA
Will be shipped to Denmark as soon as the work on the interior and some chromework is done.

Is there anybody who has pictures of your exhaust system, especially if there's a H-pipe or X- pipe to it. I'm in the building process of a 2 1/2 system on my 63 1/2 S55 vert but the vert frame doesn't leave alot of room to a x-pipe or H. I'd love some photos to get an idea of where it can be put, or do you think it can do any help if i make an H over the rear axle? Pictures tomorrow.

  19. See if this helps. The vert is different from the sedan due to the frame. This is from the '64 shop manual ( Canadian)

    Thank's captain
Here's some shots from my system, I kinda wanted it to be inside the frame but I guess the H needs to go under the frame or in the rear next to the axle. I'm not sure if I'll make an H as the sound from the pipes are close to what I'd expect.
And, yes, the airbags will come off.

I've added a few pictures from my engine swap, they're in my profile/my albums/mercury. Got inspiration so this upcoming weekend I'll put the final eforts in the exhausts, then turning my attention to the brakes´and flare the pipes and mounting the hoses etc. Sunday I hopefully can start looking at doing some interior work.

  22. Thanks for a great thread to cruise through this evening.
In the process of trying to unload my old Bug right now, but I'll be needing another project. I was thinking early F100, but now going through this thread, I'm thinking I should check with my Uncle about his '64 Montclair.

Real straight, pretty dry looking, very complete. I rubbed on the paint and it may even buff out pretty good. Been sitting for decades, semi protected.
There were wasps EVERYWHERE during a family reunion a couple years ago, so I didn't open the hood...didn't feel like getting attacked. Single exhaust, so I'm assuming 390, 2bbl.
Gotta sell my Bug first, but I should try to make it happen maybe.
Got a lot on my plate right now. Just thought I'd share.

I need to find out what's the correct place to mount the left side rear view mirror. As I checked the pictures in this thread I can see mirrors on both the doors and the fenders, but what's right??? It's a remote controlled mirror.

Ken;I think that wagon will need a little help to pull that four car stacker with the picture windows,at least twice pipes and air shocks!!! What is up with the hood on the white Merc? ROY.

    Roy

Looks like its going to hit 20 below tonight, this is bull:mad::mad::mad::mad:!!!

The white wagon is at Fast Eddies house in North Carolina. We are going to go get it next month. Going to be the official hauler.

Wish I could find one of those rigs. Its amasing how much just disappeared.

The hood is a Galaxie Teardrop,They interchange perfectly,He just needs to add the nose piece back on. I have one for my White one. I have to get working back on it.

Heres that red one that made it in Popular Hot Rodding last year.

See how there is that reverse front hood piece on there. The marauders have that, the galaxies have a stainless piece that goes there.,only difference.
