Does anyone have a trailerhitch or picture and measurements of one? Need to tow my caravan when the car's ready

  4. Mine's going in a slightly different direction than you guys. It looks better than this now, but it's hard to take pictures in the garage.

Mercjunky, do you know how many 1963 Marauders were built with 4 speeds from the factory? My friend has one here in Australia, its a 390 4speed....neat!

Looking that up It looks like its less than .9% also in 63. there were 7,298 of the monterey marauders and only 2,317 of the S-55 marauders built.Only 4% came with a locking rear. Hope this helps would love to see pics of it.

Oh, without a doubt, the 64's. Just like the Galaxie's!

I am a bit biased, though.

Its hard to argue with the looks of a 63.One of the super rare r code 427 powered marauders.

I,ll look into that.My colony park has the holes from early hitch but it hung off the bumper.I wanted to pull an open trailer with mine and my race car on the back.I was going to use a modern reciever style hitch on mine that bolts to the frame.I was going to do it this summer.I think the frame measures 49 inches wide and here there is a universal motorhome reciever that adj from 45 to 55 inches.I held it up it looked like it would work around the rear shackel. I'll let you know.

So far this is the only 63 I can find with the teardrop hood on it

  28. Traditional late 60's to early 70's lowrider. It's bagged and 4-linked currently. With a slightly smaller tire, it will lay on the crossmember up front. It has a freshly rebuilt 390 that is all stock because it's not going to be a hot rod. I'm currently taking all of the interior out so I can rewire and sound deaden it.

My dad also has a 63 Marauder that is going to be a more late 70's street machine. Station wagon springs, 4 speed and buckets, wide slotted mags, factory iron headers that sort of thing. Ours will be totally different when they're all put together.

I am a fan of the 63s over the 64s. I don't like the beaked fenders as much.

I had a 63 S-55 with a 390 and four speed back in the day. Was a heather lavender metallic and had the Lincoln style rear roof with the electric roll down rear window. The interior was buckets with full center console. Turquoise blue lighting for the dash. I loved that car. Of all the cars I have owned since HS (maybe 20 or so), it was my all time favorite. One of the sweetest highway cruisers ever built. SF Bay Area to LA was not even a chore. My wife still chides me for selling that car.

It would certainly go, but was too heavy to be really competitive on the street and was way to porky to be a track car. Sold it after I grenaded the third motor and blew second gear. Youngsters do not know what true value is - oh well :(

  30. So, you had a Monterey? I like that color alot.
