The red flake, white stripes, and the satin paint. That's totally me! There's an article about G-Dog doin those flames,in the "Rebel Rods" first mag. I bought it just for that article.

Excellent, thanx Bob. I saved em all. Reminds me of my old Merc. Ill post pics later, next is onto a 51 but I really wanna do a chop like yours on one someday, is that 4 1/2" if I remember correctly? Flows nice and you can prolly see out of it well unlike some others where the back window is there for show. My shoebox I did 6"/9" and the rear window might as well not even be there haha.

Do you have the back bagged? Seems to be higher in some shots than in others.

No bags yet. I have air-shocks,so it's hard to keep it the same height. I'm gonna bag the back, just to get in and out of driveways. It's gonna ride on the mono-leafs,so it's gonna be the same height, all the time.

so you're driving the merc on saturday right? let me know if you get there early so we can cruise by the donut shop.

that was one long drive to slddnmatt's fun times. i think we were cruising 50 mph the entire time causing traffic pissin everone off. i really need an overdrive.

we have to do the monoleafs next. i might work on my merc this friday.

    I'm drivin it to the Anti-donut breakfast,saturday.

    Here's the latest:
Buddy gave me some 1/2ton Pick-up coils. Cut one coil off...too high. Cut 1/2coil off...too high. Cut 1/2 coil more off...PERFECT! Now it's 26" to the top of the fenderwell. I wanted 25",but the coils will settle and be just right. Installed new shocks and sway-bar ends. Rides like a dream! I'll post some new pic's tomorrow. Mono-leafs go on tomorrow also.

Here's some before and after shots. What do you think? I have about 3 1/2" clearance from the ground to the drainplug. I'm afraid if I cut more off the coil,I'll be ****ed. It rides like a new car.
    Pic's:
    Top left is before
    top right is after
    middle is after
    bottom is before

It sits real nice now back in the day very few real Kustoms were on the ground they sat a little high in the front...thats traditional.

    Looks good Bob.

I think it's growing on me. I've always liked the tail dragger look. I'll sacrifice an inch or so,for a nice ride! I just looked through a bunch of my old Merc pic's,and it looks like the era I like. It won't "lay frame",but then, it doesn't leak either!

i think you should put it back on the ground so i can see sparks flying out the *** end again. so that's how my front is going to look after i put those blocks on.
