It is probably old news to some...I just saw it this evening.. Pretty sweet ride. Practical ...........NO....COOL as Hell YES!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIj2GVfua84&f
Yeah, it's been posted before. Not my cup of tea. I like simple T roadsters and A coupes myself with more sensible engines and no painted on screws. Didn't even seem to be running very well and seems like a waste of $1M that could have gone to a much better use. But, hey, that's just me.
This was built by Rod Hadfield from Castlemaine Victoria Australia. He used to own Castlemaine Rod Shop.He took this car and his T pickup to the USA for a tour last year.I believe the Chev was sold and stayed there
I'm impressed. Would I do it with my money,( if I had it to blow) no. But, I still am impressed just the same.
WOW, I seem to remember a Allison powered 64 Chevelle built in the 60's. I believe it was street legal??
Thats cool as hell! E.J. Potter installed an Allison in a 57 or 58 Dodge finned car back in the 60s. I have pictures of it in a magazine somewhere. I'll try to find it.
Do a search on Rod Hadfield and you will find he builds some fine cars , I have admired many he has built right back to when i was just a kid .......... You get the idea .........
5 years full time for the guy to build the chassis? What is full time down there, 2 hours a day with 1/2 hour lunch break? Not really impressed.
I saw this car at super Chevy a few years back, the engineering and workmanship is incredible! the car has to be seen in person to appreciate it.
It's owned by Charlie Lillard now and lives in Woodland Ca. I got to see it this spring. Way impractical, I'd rather see the merlin in a P-51.
