    That stuff is amazing Steve! The black Merc and that Holden (baby Chevy) Panel are outstanding mate! I'd trade straight up for the Merc!!!


    One more for the week, one of two drawings for a friend for Christmas.
    The other is a 1971 Ford Pony so it doesn't fit the HAMB...

    Thanks Mark. Yes, they are both no-expense-spared street/show cars- both outstanding, I agree. Merc has blown Flathead- good all over. Holden is spectacular too with flip-front and the full panel-truck trip.
    Your girls are the ginchiest. And T- Buckets- there's some beauties on the HAMB right now.

    The Grasshopper Christmas Edition with a custom trailer.

    Hello,

    What a better way to display some Christmas greenery, than the famous green Grasshopper and friend. Since seeing this roadster in the 1959 October issue of Hot Rod Magazine, we have always been amazed at the attention to detail of the roadster build, let alone the tons of chrome to make it glimmer.

    The blown Oldsmobile engine had one of the early multiple belt drives to hook up the supercharger. It was only a few months later that the big companies began to design and build the Gilmer Belt drive system that over took the sales and installations of the multiple belts. The advantage was “no slippage” with the Gilmer Belt system equating more horsepower to the motor. But, the multiple belts were impressive.

    But for what it was worth, it was an innovative roadster build and it looked outstanding at the shows. Who would not want a green, supercharged roadster making a little noise driving up to your house with a matching trailer in tow and the yearly Christmas Tree in the back?

    Not a Christmas gift, but a retirement gift I drew up and we cut on the waterjet yesterday. Painting it today and will give it to the guy Monday on his last day. It was a last minute deal to go along with his last minute decision to retire...

    A Note. The first picture was taken 40 years ago of my coupe.{ lo UFO } I would string lights on it at Christmas. Now I put up a couple candy kanes that I made from some HVAC duct. 1531.jpg
