Art & Inspiration Merry Christmas to all

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Dec 23, 2015.

  1. Merry Christmas to all my hamb friends. Having a little kiddo will make this year a lot more fun. We do a Christmas card using an old car from the fleet, here are some out takes featuring Lucy the hound and Cohen the handful. Hope everyone has a good safe holliday

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Great pics, love the boy and dog picture. Both are so precious. My kids are all grown up, but our dogs still love my old cars. Funny how all the old cars take us back to a time when it was a lot of fun. Be safe.

  7. Merry Christmas wishes back. I like the pics with the kid and dog, just think 15-20 years form now how those pics will bring back memories.

Chris...A blessed and merry Christmas to you and yours!
Your Lucy is a near twin to my chocolate Lab, Annie. We also have grandkids, Gunnar is 2, and a hot rod nut already.
Annie rides shotgun with me in my F100, sits there like a lady. People point, and wave... like it's something unusual??? She likes the roadster, too...
A safe and merry Christmas to all my HAMB bros and sisters!

Merry Christmas you guys!! I miss being on here all the time. This year I started a rewarding job I love but is harder than anything I've ever done... (hacker stuff) and then had a lil kiddo which was a surprise! Needless to say time is suddenly more precious than ever! Still try to lump around in the ol coupe every week though! Merry Christmas and best of the season to all. We had a playdate yesterday, cooking starts today. My daughter is super excited as usual, and we have a dozen people over on the big day, couple of other 4-6 yr olds, its going to be fun. Looking forward to it!
Dreddybear, Christmas is about to take on a whole new meaning, you will get to re-discover the magic of the season. Congratulations!

Merry Christmas. That dog has spent more time riding in a hot rod or custom than some guys who call themselves hot rodders and looks pretty smug having that little one at his side.
    Great photos. Chris.

    A Christmas Memory

I have always believed the magic of Christmas starts with the child in all of us. Over the years traditions may change but for me the best memories are those with my Brothers, my Sister and my Cousins. Later they were with our own Children, Nieces and Nephews. And now they continue with our Grandchildren and Grand Nieces and Nephews.

A childs tradition at Christmas time is to visit Santa Clause. For us it was a trip to Downtown Rochester. While Santa could be seen at different locations, Our Aunt Gail made sure we knew those were Santa's helpers and the real Santa was at the Sibley's Department Store which is where she would take us. I kept the kazoo from the late 50's that Santa gave me and yes it still works. Of course my children and grandchildren will probably tell you that I am not the best kazoo player.

Our Dad with the help of Family did a fantastic job raising four young children after our Mother passed. We would get some toys for Christmas and as we got older the gifts became more practical. Being the youngest, I remember one year I asked Santa for a big stagecoach with horses toy. Christmas morning came. We all opened the gifts with our Dad and in the end there was no stagecoach with horses. Now I probably did let everyone know about my dissapointment. Did Santa really mess this up or maybe he thought I was bad. For sure I was ready to discuss this with him when he comes back to Sibley's next year.

A day or two goes by and our Family gets a visit from our Mothers Cousin Jim. When he came in he was carrying a fairly large wrapped gift that he handed to me. You guessed it, a big stagecoach with horses. A huge thank you to Cousin Jim and relief that Santa could remain on my good side.

I spent many fun hours playing with that big stagecoach with horses. Back then toys were made from recycled plastics and did not last like they do today. While one of my favorite toys may be gone, the wonderful Christmas memory it helped create for me remains along with the many more that I have had and will continue to have with Family and Friends. If you want to know about the magic of Christmas, just look into the eyes of a child. Enjoy the Holiday Season and make some new memories. Those are the best gifts that will last forever.
