Hot Rods Merry Christmas to ME-WOO HOO

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Dec 3, 2008.

  1. Woo Hooo!! for sure, what a killer score!!! It has everything I like--including the great white paint. Everybody had to have a hardtop--but someone was way cool--2-dr posts rule. I drag raced my high school buddies 60 Catalina 2-dr hardtop with the same engine. He couldn't drive for shit, so I banged it for him. Tough duty!! Enjoy your great x-mas gift!~Sololobo~

I don't know how you keep doing it, but every car you buy seems to top the last. That has got to be one of the rarest optioned Pontiacs of that year. It seems, sort of strange to me that the origional buyer wouldn't step up to a 4 speed after getting the the engine option. Non the less a very cool score. Santa is one cool dude.

If I'm not mistaken, that very same car was for sale at the first GoodGuy's show in Hershey, PA. The guy that was selling it stayed at the same hotel as we did and I remember depositing a lot of drool on the treasure. The thing that makes me think this the same car is the three-speed trans. All the other clues, such as color, wheels, etc. are virtually the same as the car I saw.

I believe that the asking price was $14,000! The car did sell. I'm not sure for how much. Oh man, I wanted that car...

Does anyone else that was at Hershey the first year remember this car? Or is it just a pigment of my old and feeble mind???

Not having to ask the wife for "permission" to helps too!! YOU can give an on-the-spot answer, not I'll get back to you after I check with my wife....

  6. I think so. I wanna see if I can get Larry Fator to put a bit of lettering on it next week. I just haven't decided what I want on it. Any ideas guys?

  8. I havn't checked yet. Don't get any ideas:D. I can hear your wheels spinnin from here:p

  9. AMEN to that. I think it's a lot easier to get a better price when you present the seller with no drama.

If you can find old pictures of the '60 Pontiac that ran under the banner of "Royal Pontiac". Block letters with "Royal Pontiac" across the side. The back quarter said "Hot Chile #1". There was also some lettering on top of the front fenders but I can't make it out.

  11. I got a great idea from one of the guys here. Stugots Pontiac....Brooklyn:D

Love the added words for the description, like...."Wonder Touch Power Steering". Though I can attest, it is very Good Power Steering. Great score!

  16. That's looking pretty damn good. Looks like all the HARD work is behind you now. That trans worked good before I pulled it out of a friend's car. The motor had a crank knock, so he had me install a later Pontiac motor and TH350. I'll get your pics of the Z-bar area in a few days. I got shit going on from now through the weekend

  17. Thanks, brother ;) No hurry on those pics either....this thing's been going on..what? 3 years plus....?

Again, your car's tits. But you ALWAYS buy cool stuff  ;)
Sorry to muck up your thread with my POS :D

Killer find, if it were mine I'd leave it alone and drive the shit out of it. That's one cool car. Stugots Pontiac-Brooklyn??? Do you have the Brooklyn accent to go along with it???
