I've got the long white beard, but the only time I played Santa was at the end of the semester. Hope everybody has had a great Christmas and is looking forward to a better 2021.
My buddy Dave and former coworkers. Dave is now retired, hence "former coworkers". Smug retired people bug me, man I want to retire and be smug too! These folks did a in house themed Christmas card for work every year, this is an old one. No Santa nor reindeer were harmed in any way during production! Merry Christmas all!

Hello, The 2021 Granddaughter Christmas tree is now in session. In a most recent visit, our granddaughter was delighted that we still did “her” tree. Every year since 2005, we have had the same tree, with a new ornament that has her name on each small bauble. This year, we were in the motion of decorating the tree when she stopped by for a visit. There are new digital fairy lights, remote control and a 2021 name ornament on display. Along with the Grandma and Grandpa bears waking up from their long winter nap. At first, it was the simple ornaments we saw at various stores. Then as the companies quit making them so small or duplicated the last year’s supply with a new date, we had to look elsewhere. Now, the custom, small tree size ornaments are only sold in a garden shop in Newport Beach. Once selected, we have to use our finest paint brush or fine tip marker to put on her name and year. My old pinstriping brush has a fine tip for a good lettering on the small ornament. It depends on the time of decorating. If it is a late date, as if someone is coming over soon, then the fine tip marker does the job. But, if we started the early preparations and there is no rush, that gives me more time on the yearly project. Then the trial and error with the old pinstriping brush gets its time to shine. Jnaki Normally, there is a long line up of little scale hot rods arriving for the opening ceremonies. But, due to the pandemic, last year’s attendance dropped off from the normal amount of new arrivals. This year, there were even less, but they were new builds or straight from the showroom. (Including the traveling 1955 custom Chevy wagon and Airstream Trailer.) So, the 16 year tradition continues for our family holiday. Stay healthy and have a great Winter Holiday Season...
Merry Christmas Ryan, and all the HAMB family. This has probably been on here before but I like it. Twas the Night Before Christmas. ( Hot Rod Style) Twas the night before Christmas in the garage I went, There wasn’t a trace of the coming event. The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit, So I figured I’d mess with the coupe for a bit. I polished the grill, the wheels and the hood, When a deep voice behind me said looks pretty good. Well, as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick, And there, by the workbench, stood good old Saint Nick! We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say, Then he said don’t suppose that you’d trade for my sleigh? I said no way, Santa and started to grin, But if you’ve got the time we could go for a spin! His round little mouth, all tied up like a bow, Turned into a smile and he said hey! Let’s go!! So as not to disturb all the neighbours retreat, We pushed the coupe quietly into the street, Then, taking our places to drift down the hill, I turned on the key and I let the clutch spill. The sound that erupted took him by surprise, But he liked it a lot, by the look in his eyes. With Firestones a crying and lake pipes aglow, We headed on out where the hot rodders go. As Santa’s grin widened, approaching his ears, With every shift up as I went through the gears. Then he yelled can’t recall when I’ve felt so alive! So I backed off the gas and said you want to drive? Old Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys, When he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees! Then the hemi exploded with side exhaust sound! Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground! Power shift into second, again into third! I sat there just watching, at loss for a word, Then I heard him exclaim as we blasted from sight, Merry Christmas to all, it’s a hell of a night!!! Stay safe all.
